PRI's Cardio-vascular project supported by the EU (POIG 1.3.1)


The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland has issued a positive opinion on the consecutive Pharmaceutical Research Institute (PRI) grant application for the Innovative Economy Operational Programme 2007-2013 (POIG), submeasure 1.3.1.


The research project entitled Innovative technologies of Cardio-vascular medicines of special therapeutic and social importance gained the funding of 19,132,000 PLN (ca. 4,783,000 EUR), including 16,262,750 PLN (ca. 4,066,000 EUR) from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). ERDF is a fund allocated by the European Union.


The aim of the Project is to develop manufacturing technologies of five efficient and modern generic medicinal products of critical importance for the quality of cardio-vascular system therapy (arteriosclerotic vascular disease - ASVD, peripheral artery occlusive disease - PAOD, pulmonary hypertension - PH, venous thrombosis, heart failure). The developed technologies offered for commercialisation by PRI are intended to improve the safety and life quality of patients.


On 06 April 2010 the agreement on funding the research project was signed.
