Prof. Lukasz Kaczmarek received his M.Sc. from the Mathematics-Physics-Chemistry Department of the Jagiellonian University (1973), his Ph.D. in chemistry from the Institute of Organic Chemistry of Polish Academy of Sciences (IChO PAN, 1976) and his D.Sc. (habilitation) from the IChO PAN (1988). He became professor in chemistry (2003). Affiliated to IChO PAN from 1973 to 1994, he is working for the Pharmaceutical Research Institute since 1995. He is the author of concept of anticancer activity of indoloquinolines, co-author of model compounds and contributor in the synthetic part of broad project including research on intra-molecular proton transfer in excited state, author of research in bipyridyl chemistry, inventor of technological-friendly, economic and safe oxidation system (UHP - phtalic anhydride). Manager of 11 research projects supported by Committee of Scientific Research, Technological Initiative, Operational Programme of Innovative Economy as well as Servier company and Foundation for the Development of Polish Pharmacy and Medicine. Author or co-author of 16 technological studies, including 12 commercializations of generic drug APIs and over 110 original publications and over 50 patents or patent applications. Promoter of 3 Ph.D. theses and 1 M.Sc. thesis.
